For all of you who can remember We Love Erie Days, you know how starved everyone was for quality food.
Don't get me wrong, there will always be a time and place for greasy, fried fair food being sold by a tank-top wearing, carny missing his front teeth.
But Celebrate Erie is not one of those places. With Taste of Erie (in West Perry Square - Gazebo side) showcasing 6 local Erie restaurants including
Pufferbelly,
Theodore's,
Latino's,
The Brewerie at Union Station,
Bertrand's, and
Colony Pub & Grille, do not try to find food on the other side of State Street. The event is to Celebrate Erie, so please support these local restaurants.
Here are some of my recommendations to get your mouth's watering:

For an
appetizer,
stop by Colony Pub and Grille's tent for some
Sweet Potato Fries.

For
entrees, try the
Crabcakes from Theodore's with a corn
relish and a delicious crab cake sauce.

Or try Betrand's
Seafood Mac & Cheesemade for adults with a rich white sauce and tons of
seafood.

For a non-fish dish, salsa over to Latino's for homemade
tacos, enchiladas, and guacolmole.
Choosing a
dessert is a tricky decision.

You could stop back over to Colony and grab some
Deep-Fried Cheesecake made with a sweet breading around it.

Say Bonjour again to Chef Bertrand and savor some
Creme Brulee.

Or, my personal choice, chow down on an individual
Peanut Butter Pie with whipped cream and chocolate sauce from Pufferbelly's Restaurant.
